The Wisdom of the Sands

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Wisdom of the Sands.

“The Wisdom of the Sands” written by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, one of the few books that is so difficult to read, but is necessary to read.

The first time I took  in my hands “The Wisdom of the Sands” in 2011, after reading the first hundred pages, I realized that I can’t read more and postponed it until a more better moment, which in the end came in 2016.

The book “The Wisdom of the Sands” helps to think about something more important and significant in our lives. You can’t read “The Wisdom of the Sands” quickly, because that book written in a very complicated language, sometimes you even need to re-read several times the same phrase for understand the essence. In the works of Saint-Exupéry, this book has one of the most important places.

I will not advise you to read “The Wisdom of the Sands”, because I think it is so specific and unique book.

I convinced that not everyone will accept the style of the author and will do not get tired already after the tenth page. The book is filled with philosophy, thinking about life, about friendship, about power.

I write about it here, just to let you know that such a book exists. And if once in your life will come a time when you will want to philosophize, you can always take “The Wisdom of the Sands” and read.

And to help you understand if you would like read “The Wisdom of the Sands” or not, below I will provide some citations from it.

“Believe me, none of us are afraid to die, but we are afraid that will die some things made by us, they looks seemingly meaningless and insignificant. That’s when we realized: the meaning of life, is for what it is spent.”

“Only fronting, you feel a shearing force. For a leaf flying in the wind’s will, there is no wind. For a freely falling stone no weight.”

“Try to understand it – this is important – and do not thinking that error, that are something what is different from your truth. Do not think that what is true, in your opinion, accurately.”
