Burg Castle, Germany.

Burg Castle is the largest reconstructed castle in Germany, as well as one of the most popular sights of the country. Burg Castle is located in the city of Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The city of Solingen is located at a distance of 54 km from Düsseldorf.

Burg Castle was built in the early 12th century and was originally the main residence of the Berg Counts. In the 15th century, the castle was reconstructed and became a hunting castle, in the mean time it got its present name Schloss Burg.

In the whole history of existence, some parts of the castle were destroyed during the various wars and after, restored.

You can get to the Burg Castle by car or by cable lift. The car you can leave in the parking lot, which is located near the gate of the castle.

The palace complex of the Castle Burg offers its visitors several leisure activities.

1. You can just stroll through the palace complex and admire the buildings of the 12th century.

2. You can visit the museum part of the castle.

Entering the castle, the first thing you’ll see is a small Family room on the walls of which you can see the pedigree of the German emperors and knight armour.

From this room you can get to the Fireplace Hall, the walls of which are painted with paintings depicting the elements of the life of past years. And also to the room that served as the bedroom for the female part of the castle.

In one of these rooms, you can see various elements of clothing and weapons of past years.

But the Hunting Hall became the most memorable hall after Fireplace Hall. In it you will be able to see the gun collection and stuffed animals.

3. Restaurants and cafes.

If after a walk around the castle you became hungry, then on the territory of the palace complex are located several cozy restaurants and cafes. Mostly, they are located near the hill, so from the windows of these restaurants opens a beautiful view of the city of Solingen.
