I recently read Dan Brown’s book “The Da Vinci Code”. The screen version of the book “The Da Vinci Code” I looked in 2006, in those days when he went out. This film made a great impression on me, but in the time when I was reading the book in my memory were remind only weak memories of the plot.

About the book “The Richest Man in Babylon,” written by George Clason the first time I heard a few years ago. But having read several book like this I decided did not read it. Fortunately, the book “The Richest Man in Babylon” again came into my hands, and this time I read it before the New Year.

In the book “The Richest Man in Babylon,” the author, by the mouth of the characters of the book, tells a few stories from the life of the Babylonians. Each of the storytellers always returns to the advice of a wise man, who was known as the richest man in Babylon.


Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie.

Mitch Albom book “Tuesdays with Morrie” fell into my hands a couple of weeks ago. In one of the meeting of members of the club «Friendship of nations», I complained to my girlfriends that I cannot find in Iskenderun, Turkey store, in which I could buy books in English. Fortunately, I have addressed to the address, because each of those girls had at the home library a lot of books in English.

A couple of weeks ago, one my Indian friend Vijay Milampure  brought me a gift from India. It was the book written by Sudha Murty «The Old Man and His God: Discovering the Spirit of India». It was an unexpected and pleasant gift, because I love to read books. And with the words: «Sudha Murty is a very famous woman in India. She is like you. But she is traveling around India, and describes the events that happen to her. And you write about cities and countries, but she writes about people. Through this book you will be able better to understand India and our people”.

The book “The Mountain Shadow” written by Gregory David Roberts, is a worthy sequel of the sensational bestseller “Shantaram”.

The novel “The Mountain Shadow”, was published in January 2015 and was doomed to success. Millions of people who read “Shantaram” was looking forward to read the sequel of an exciting story about the life of the main character Lin (Linbaba).


Colleen McCullough, Bittersweet.

Book “Bittersweet” is the last book written by Australian writer Colleen McCullough. She was died in early 2015. Colleen McCullough is famous to the world by the book “The Thorn Birds” written in 1977. With this book has grown more than one generation of young people and it is still interesting to read. The first time I took  in my hands “The Wisdom of the Sands” in 2011, after reading the first hundred pages, I realized that I can’t read more and postponed it until a more better moment, which in the end came in 2016.

The first book of Jack London what I reading was his novel “Martin Eden”. Martin Eden – is the protagonist of the novel, a sailor, a native of the lower classes, who meets a girl from a rich bourgeois family, Ruth Morse. Martin fallen in love with Ruth from the first look. He decided get married with her, but first he needed to reach she’s level of life. He started self-education.


J. Fried and D. Hansson, REWORK.

Just yesterday I finished read the book written by David Heinemeier Hansson and Jason Fried «REWORK”. In this book, the authors share their business experience and give a very unusual advice.

In 1999, Jason Fried opened a company in Chicago called «37signals». That company create and sell business tool.

Steve Jobs

Walter Isaacson, Steve Jobs.

At that time when Apple became so popular around the world, Walter Isaacson wrote a book “Steve Jobs”. Unfortunately, about the same time, Steve Jobs died.

Fans of “Apple” productions bought a lot of copies of the book. And the famous black-and-white photography of Steve, has become one of the most recognizable.

I have not yet met a person who has not cried, when he has finished reading the book Eleanor H. Porter, Pollyanna.

Pollyanna, was written for children, but is can be also useful for adults. In the book, the author tells story about one child, eleven years old, named Pollyanna. Which after his father’s death, forced to move to live with his Aunt Polly.
